What would you do if you found a 1200 years-old viking sword in Norway?  For one person, after the initial amazement, be brought the 1250 year-old sword to archeologists working with the Hordaland County Council.  The team thinks that the sword might have belonged to wealthy person due to its make, but even due to it’s age, it could perhaps still be used if only sharpened.  Pretty amazing considering it was found on a hike after 1200 years, but will hopefully add to more insights about the owner and maybe more finds to come.

While the Viking sword measured 30-inches, and not a true longsword (see what is a longsword) that are typically 40-48 inches in length of the blade, this is still an amazing piece of history.
